Dance Repertory Company
In addition to classes, a large portion of the learning experience for all MCA students is performing. Students may audition for MCA's youth performing ensemble, the Dance Repertory Company, or MCA's junior performing troupe, the Dance Repertory Company II. Full of youthful exuberance, spirit and burgeoning talent, the DRC presents two concerts per year. A community favorite for almost four decades, performances by the DRC feature Classical and contemporary ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and modern dance. The company's repertoire includes such Classical ballets as Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Paquita, Excerpts from Swan Lake, Cinderella, and The Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadère. The company also presents many original works encompassing contemporary dance forms. The company continues to strive toward its original vision of sharing and communicating the arts to its students and with the community through dance.

Auditions for the DRC II will be Saturday, September 17 at 12:00 pm!

Auditions for the DRC will be held in January 2012!
The DRC will present Le Corsaire, April 26 - 28, 2012 at Saint Mary's University Page Theatre. Le Corsaire, loosely based on a poem by Lord Byron, follows Medora, a beautiful slave girl, and Conrad, a dashing pirate, as they journey through a tapestry of captive maidens, rich sultans, swashbuckling abductions, and dramatic rescues - all culminating in a happy ending. Originally choreographed by Marius Petipa to music by Adolfe Adam, Le Corsaire continues to delight audiences more than 150 years after its premiere. Auditions for the DRC's Spring production of Le Corsaire are free and open to the public. Roles for male and female intermediate and advanced dancers ages 12 (for younger student by invitation only) to adult, as well as actors and community members are available. DRC members are required to enroll in at least one dance class at MCA or SMU. A $75.00 performance fee is required. Financial need based scholarships are available.
