SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS

Dance Repertory Company

In addition to classes, a large portion of the learning experience for all MCA students is performing. Students may audition for MCA’s youth performing troupe, The Dance Repertory Company, or MCA’s junior performing troupe, the Dance Repertory Company II. Full of youthful exuberance, spirit and burgeoning talent, the Dance Repertory Company presents two concerts per year. A community favorite for more than three decades, performances by the Dance Repertory Company feature Classical and contemporary ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and modern dance. The company’s repertoire includes such Classical ballets as Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, The Firebird, Paquita, Excerpts from Swan Lake, Cinderella, and The Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadère. The company also presents many original works encompassing contemporary dance forms. The company continues to strive toward its original vision of sharing and communicating the arts to its students and with the community through dance.
