Overview
MCA's Music Division includes a youth choir, Winona Area Youth Singers (WAYS), Music Explorers classes, as well as private instruction. WAYS is offered throughout each academic year. Music Explorers classes are offered in the summer programming, and private lessons are offered year-round. Members of WAYS participate in weekly repertoire sessions, a special mentorship program with Saint Mary's University choirs, and perform in concerts, community outreach events, and holiday caroling. Music Explorers offers an introduction, expansion, or review of material encountered in the school music setting. These courses encourage music literacy, allowing students to be better listeners and performers of music. Music Explorers offers a great preparation to Winona Area Youth Singers.
